HIGH SEASON FOR TOURISM IN COSTA RICA IS ALMOST HERE!
The HIGH SEASON for Tourism is about to start, and with it come increased rates. All hotel rates will go up AFTER the 15th of December (20th of December in some places)...

NO CARS AVAILABLE FOR RENT?
I was calling RENT A CAR AGENCIES today, and was ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED to learn that NO MAJOR company has rental availability as of the 15th of December!!! This was simply incredible. I guess it has to do with the fact that sooooo many tourists are coming this holiday season, and the fact that schools are about to go for vacation, meaning the locals will also be beach-bound.

So if you're planning to vacation, don't wait till the last moment, or you may be in for a very unpleasant surprise when you see the NO VACANCY sign everywhere you go!

Ofcourse, if you are able to go before the 15th of December...not only will you find nice weather, but you will also get MUCH BETTER rates. You can probably negotiate for a better rate if you go before the "GREEN SEASON" kicks in.

As for this TICO, he will be visiting Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste, if the Good Lord is willing, and the creek don't rise.

Why the hell does anyone get a rental car anyways? I would say 1 in 20 tourists needs it, unless you are coming with 3 or 4 people it makes no sense to get one. Besides some of the best fun is travelling Tico-style...a bus that costs about $4 and has people standing in the aisles

I won't praise for the Tico Style ...but anyhow the formula: roads + crazy people behind the wheel + the curves + the crazy people behind the truck wheel + the lack of proper direction + the crazy people behind bus wheel... I hope you get my point. If you are visiting for a week just get a tour or hire somebody to drive you and avoid the hassle...If you like adventure swing on the trees
